In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

4 reasons to book
  • Unbeatable central location — Steps from Plaza Mayor, a short walk to Puerta del Sol, and close to metro and taxi options – yet on a quiet street.
  • Modern rooms in a historic building — Renovated rooms with contemporary style, parquet floors, soundproofing, and climate control.
  • Breakfast that earns praise — Guests repeatedly highlight the savoury, generous breakfast with healthy options and quality coffee.
  • Attentive and helpful staff — Polite, discreet, and knowledgeable – from recommendations to airport shuttle assistance.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Rooms can be small — Guests describe the rooms as 'good, small' – a consideration if you’re travelling with bulky luggage.
  • Check-out is strict at noon — Guests with children found it challenging to vacate on time; the hotel did call to ask about departure.
  • Noise from street may still be a factor — While soundproofing is praised, the hotel’s central location on a busy street means some ambient noise can occur.

“Thank you to the whole team! The restaurant food is excellent, and breakfast is tasty with options for every palate, plus great Nespresso coffee. The newly renovated rooms are contemporary, and the service is attentive and respectful. I really appreciated the staff's care.”

“Breakfast at the restaurant was good – we both ordered healthy dishes. The staff were courteous and well-informed, and they arranged a shuttle to the airport for us.”

“The location is ideal – very central, with a taxi rank and metro nearby. One block from Plaza Mayor, surrounded by restaurants, and close to Puerta del Sol – closer than it looks on the map. What makes it perfect is being near everything but not on top of it. We were a bit late for check-out because travelling with kids is tricky, and they kindly called to ask about our departure time. I didn't have time for breakfast, but they offer a lemonade at reception. The shower was great, with hydro massage and everything!”

“The rooms were recently refurbished, contemporary, with a bunk bed, a great view of Madrid, and balconies. There was a tapas restaurant for breakfast.”
